RECIPE: BBQ Roasted Chickpeas

Makes: 4 servings


INGREDIENTS

  • 1 1/2 chickpeas, drained and rinsed

  • 1 tbsp BBQ Seasoning Mix

  • 1/8 tsp pepper

  • 1 Tbs olive oil

BBQ Seasoning Mix (10 tsp/recipe)

  • 2 Tbs paprika (smoked if desired)

  • 2 Tbs coconut sugar

  • 2 tsp garlic powder

  • 2 tsp chili powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)

DIRECTIONS


Prep

  1. Make BBQ seasoning blend: Add ingredients to glass mason jar fitted with lid - shake to combine and store in a cool, dry place. Use 1 tbsp in this recipe. Also delicious on chicken, fish, tofu, pork, & beans.

  2. Drain and rinse the chickpeas.


Make

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a large bowl combine the chickpeas, seasoning, and olive oil. Toss to combine and spread evenly on the baking sheet. Roast for 40-50 minutes, stirring chickpeas occasionally, until chickpeas are slightly crispy. Serve as a snack or as a side dish.
